When the skin is stimulated with massage due to chronic pain relief, stress relief, back pain relief, car accident pain, or a sports injury healing chemicals are released into the bloodstream, increasing the amount of nutrients to muscles and surrounding tissue. Broad deep strokes release an endorphin response, the natural pain killer. It has been proven that therapeutic massage can have positive effects for chronic pain relief, stress relief, back pain relief, car accident pain, and sports injury by increased flexibility in joints, improved posture, enhanced sleep quality, faster recovery from injury, decrease anxiety, improved immune response.
Prepare your mind and body for healing. Drink 6-8 glasses of water within 24 hours before your appointment. Breathe, take slow deep calming breaths. Relax.
New client sessions are 90 minutes. Your session includes paper work, intake (time to sit and get to know each other), hands-on work, self-care instruction and payment/reschedule time.
After the intake time your massage therapist will leave the room; allowing you time to undress to your comfort level and get onto the table as instructed. After your massage therapist washes their hands you will hear a knock on the door, to be sure you are ready for your massage therapist to enter the room. You will be draped by comfortable linens at all times (except for areas being worked on). A light lotion or oil will be used during the massage therapy.
When the massage is finished your massage therapist will leave the room. Take a moment before you get up from the table. When you are dressed open the door, so your therapist knows you are ready. Have a seat and relax. Your massage therapist will discuss self-care instructions at this time. Plan to relax today.
Effects of massage are cumulative, providing a quicker response when massage is provided on a regular schedule. Muscle has memory and can relax sooner when it knows what to do. Talk to your massage therapist to see what schedule would be best for your wellness.
- 30 minute sessions: Shorter visits at more frequent intervals are great for special attention to a problem area.
- 60 minute sessions: Most common. Great for full body or an intentional in-depth treatment to a problem area.
- 90 minute sessions: Provide enough time for a full body massage and in-depth treatment to a problem area.
Hours are by appointment only. This is your time to relax and heal. A special time is set aside for your appointment so I will be able to be attentive to your session without disruption.
